History and Approaches
This Unit recognizes how philosophical and physiological perspectives shaped the development of psychological thought. Describes and compares different theoretical approaches in explaining behavior: — structuralism, functionalism, and behaviorism in the early years. It talks about Gestalt, psychoanalytic/psycho dynamic, and how humanism emerged later; — evolutionary, biological, cognitive, and biopsychosocial as more contemporary approaches.
